Who is ASM? ASM is American Surface Modifications, a Limited Liability Company, registered in TX, to offer services in the surface modification industry. The principals consist of respected individuals who have collectively more than 125 years of experience in the aerospace, gas turbine, and steam turbine industries.
What specific services does ASM offer? Through its partners and members, ASM offers the most diverse collection of services under one roof of any independent surface modification company. Specifically, services we offer include, but are not limited to: Ø Thermal spray coatings: Carbides, MCrAlY, thermal barrier coatings, abradables, dimensional restoration, Ø Thermal Spray Processes: HVOF, Plasma, Arc Spray, Flame spray Ø Diffusion Coatings High temperature aluminide, Al-Si Ø Compressor Coatings Aluminum corrosion resistant coatings, Anti-fouling coatings, high temperature paints, sealers Ø Powder Sprayability Thermal spray qualification of all powders, characterization via ASTM tests Ø Heat Treating: Tempering of steels Ø Engineering Consulting Global knowledge on market trends and analyses, expert robot programming, coating selection, materials analysis, development of coatings and processes. Reverse engineered coatings as alternates to any OEM coatings or materials. Complete metallurgical analysis including; X-ray, EDS, Microscopy, SEM of all types of ferrous, non-ferrous and super alloys Complete installation, qualification, calibration and prototype testing of coating processes at customer’s facility
What is ASM’s expertise? ASM’s members and partners are internationally recognized experts in all of the processes listed above. They are continually forming joint partnerships with independent suppliers/vendors to strengthen the portfolio of services. The technical staff of five has between them over 135 years of experience in surface modifications and heat treating. It encompasses the latest technologies in surface enhancement and engineering.
Where is ASM located? ASM is currently housed in a brand new building in the heart of the turbomachinery business – Houston, Texas. Close to the major highways, it is conveniently located close to one of the largest potential customer base in the world. |
